Is your team spending more time fighting software than advancing the mission?

Let's fix it.

Josh TerAvest

Hi, I'm Josh TerAvest, an independent software engineer, now working exclusively with arts and culture organizations.

I've spent 17 years in and around theaters, operas, museums, and performing arts centers. I started at the box office, then marketing, then seven years deep inside Tessitura, the sector's enterprise CRM. I've also worked in the SF Tech scene as a software engineer.

These days I build tools and products for mission-driven organizations. A lot of my recent work has been in AI engineering and enablement. For example, at Quizlet I standardized how we integrated AI tools into our existing systems of record. I wrote about it in From Chaos to Patterns. I bring that frontier work back to the organizations I care about most.

When I build for an arts organization, you get a partner who knows the work and does what I do best: finding the pattern in a messy system and turning it into something your team can actually use.
